In this video we travel the Yankee Boy Basin Trail, and also Imogene Pass. Yankee Boy Basin was a really fun trail pretty close to the town of Ouray. The views are absolutely stunning as well. We would probably rate this trail as a moderate trail because, while you can complete it with a stock, 4x4, high clearance vehicle having the extra ground clearance of a small lift kit will definately prevent some rubbing. Imogene Pass is probably the best trail in the area. Words can't describe the views nor can videos. You really have to come to this trail and check them out for yourself. It is rated moderate to difficult, so just be aware of that if you plan on bringing a stock rig out here.
This video covers the Portland Mine Trail. This trail is a short , easy forest road really close to Ouray. The trail itself is pretty easy, however most people travel this trail because of the abundance of campsites that it has to offer. If you are looking for a short easy trail to camp along in the area, this is the trail for you!
Engineer Pass is an awesome trail. Probably the most technical trail that we traveled during our trip. This trail offers lots of rocks and lots of steep climbs. However we were not able to finish this trail because we had to make it back to the town of Ouray before it got dark. Instead, we made it to the summit then turned around. We would probably rate this our 2nd favorite trail in the area, behind Imogene Pass. Check it out for yourself if you are in the area.
In this video we travel Corkscrew, Hurricane, and California Pass to the Annimas Forks ghost town. Corkscrew pass is the coolest of the three passes that we traveled this day. The views of the red mountains are breathtaking! The other to passes are pretty similar, high altitude passes. The ghost town itself is extremely well preserved and is worth the trip all the way out there.
