Welcome to Trago ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting your personal information. This comprehensive Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access or use the Trago mobile application (the "App") and any related services.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the application.
Trago is built on a "local-first" privacy model. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we maintain remote databases that store your personal travel itineraries, financial expenses, or contacts. The core functionality of the App operates directly on your device. The information you input into Trago remains strictly on your local hardware unless you explicitly choose to share it externally through your device's native sharing capabilities.
Although we do not collect your data on our servers, the App requires access to certain device features to provide its intended functionality. We request these permissions solely to operate the App locally on your device:
Location Data (GPS & Network-Based):
Purpose: We request access to your location to center the map on your current position, track your travel routes, and help you discover nearby destinations.
Storage: Your location coordinates are processed locally. We do not track your location in the background or send your location history to our servers.
Camera Access:
Purpose: We request camera access to allow you to scan business cards and expense receipts using on-device optical character recognition (OCR) and text recognition technologies.
Storage: The images captured and the text extracted are processed locally and saved directly to your device.
Photo Library / Gallery Access:
Purpose: We request access to your photo gallery so you can upload existing images of receipts or business cards for text extraction and record-keeping.
Storage: We only access the specific photos you select within the App, and we do not upload your photo library to any external servers.
Contacts / Address Book:
Purpose: We request access to your contacts to allow you to seamlessly save newly scanned business cards or travel companions directly to your device’s address book.
Storage: We do not harvest, upload, or monetize your contact list.
Push Notifications:
Purpose: We use local device notifications to send you reminders about upcoming trips, itinerary changes, and necessary travel preparations.
Storage: These notifications are scheduled locally on your operating system and do not rely on a remote push notification server.
While Trago operates primarily offline and locally, we utilize certain third-party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) to provide enhanced features. These third parties may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data or require basic network requests:
Mapping Services: We use third-party map providers (e.g., Mapbox, OpenStreetMap) to render geographical maps. When the App fetches map tiles, your IP address and basic device information may be briefly visible to these providers as part of standard internet protocols.
Machine Learning (ML Kit): On-device text recognition utilizes local machine learning models. No images are sent to the cloud for processing.
Currency Conversion: To provide accurate expense tracking, the App may periodically fetch live currency exchange rates from a public API. This request only contains the currency pairs and does not include any of your personal financial data.
Because your data is stored locally on your mobile device, you are primarily responsible for its security.
Security Measures: We recommend that you secure your device using a strong passcode, biometric authentication (such as Face ID or Touch ID), and device encryption.
Data Retention: The data remains on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. If you uninstall or delete Trago from your device, all associated app data, including trips and expenses, will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us. We highly recommend regularly backing up your device using Apple iCloud or Google Drive.
Trago is not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions, such as the EU). We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or store personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Even though we do not store your data on our servers, we acknowledge your rights under global privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the United States.
Right to Access and Delete: Because all data is stored on your device, you have complete control over it. You can access, edit, or delete any itinerary, expense, or contact directly within the App. To completely erase all data associated with the App, you may simply uninstall Trago from your device.
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. Your continued use of the App after the revised Privacy Policy has become effective indicates that you have read, understood, and agreed to the current version of this Privacy Policy.
