Hello reader. I am an independent storyteller, optimist, and champion overthinker. I am autistic, and live with my amazingly supportive husband, who also happens to be my best friend. Writing is a hyperfixation for me; a compulsion. If I don’t write, I get anxious. Sometimes it consumes me, but it is also one of my greatest joys. So is sharing my stories with others.
I began this journey of publishing all the stories I write in 2012. There have been ups and downs, and I have certainly made my share of mistakes as an independent author trying to do everything myself. I enjoy learning all the processes, and I learn something new everyday. I’ve had wonderful help along the way from friends, and from readers who became friends.
I write under two names—C.E. Kilgore for my contemporary romance of various flavors, and Corinne Kilgore for my science fiction romance and explorations into fantasy. I primarily write character-driven romances, both hot and mild. I don’t follow many genre norms, and I know my writing style and stories aren’t for everyone.
I am a firm believer that all stories should be shared, and I offer enthusiastic encouragement to anyone who is thinking about diving into this great adventure of self-publishing. Your story may not win awards, or be a bestseller, but it may become someone’s favorite story, touch their emotions, or simply provide a few needed moments of escape.

What I am on Tuesday does not define what I can be on Wednesday.
I like testing genre boundaries and have no qualms about jumping over them, experimenting and having fun with it.
Mostly-functioning autistic & masking expert. Diagnosed as an adult, and it certainly helped explain some things…
Gender Neutral. I have no preferred pronouns. He/She/They/Friend
I work best when fueled by Sumatran coffee, Honeycrisp apples and Ramen noodles
Happily married to my best friend.
I’ve lived in 17 different places from Dallas to Toronto, & currently reside in West Virginia. This has made me a master packer, and has also led to a tendency to purge belongings at random while holding tightly onto a few sacred objects.
I have an HBA in History and BA in Cultural Anthropology from Wilfred Laurier University. I haven’t done a darn thing with either one of my degrees, but I like to think they have helped me become a better writer.
My hobbies include art, entomology, crochet, jigsaw puzzles, and PC gaming.
My favorite color is yellow.
Wasabi peas are awesome except when you eat too many.
