WELCOME!
Off The Wall is a theatre production class that meets the VAPA fine arts requirement and is considered a Varsity Art. We produce the various main-stage productions at THHS as well as a few workshop/passion projects throughout the school year. Students in Off The Wall will have opportunities to expand their knowledge of theatre arts including, but not limited to:
Acting in main-stage productions such as Trabuco Night Live and the Spring Musical
Designing and building sets/props
Lighting and sound design
Costume design and construction
Hair/Make up/Wig design and care
Script writing (mainly for TNL)
Student directing
We are a self-run theatre company and the opportunities for advancement and growth are endless! We also participate in several adjudicated drama “festivals” or “competitions” such as the MACY Awards, OC Cappies, and the Role About Theatre festival.
Pre-Requisites to Off the Wall
Pre-Requisites to Off the Wall
Traditionally, students must take Drama 1 with Mr. Sautner and subsequently Drama 2 with Mrs. Finnerty to join Off the Wall as an actor. There are no pre- requisites to join Off the Wall as a technician. If you are an upperclassmen who has not yet taken Drama 1 or 2, but is interested in Off the Wall, contact Mrs. Finnerty.

Interested in lighting, sound, stage managing, directing, set construction, prop building, costuming or any other area of technical theatre? Join our tech team for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year! There are no pre-requisites required to join Off the Wall as a technician, simply email Mrs. Finnerty for more info.

Spring Musical
Want to join the spring musical? Musical auditions are open to EVERYONE in the school. No experience, drama classes, dance classes, or choir classes required to audition! You can also become a technician for the musical without being enrolled in Off the Wall. All rehearsals take place immediately after 7th period. Auditions have already passed for the 2022 spring musical, but please check back for audition dates for next years' spring musical.

Want to improve your writing skills and see what local theatre artists are up to? Join Cappies! You do not need to be enrolled in a VAPA class to participate. Cappies is a program where high school student critics watch plays and musicals of other high schools in the Orange County area and write comprehensive reviews to celebrate high school theatre.
