If you want deep bass, extended battery life, and a classic over-ear design for long listening sessions while fishing, choose TPVision/ Philips H5205; if you need situational awareness, a lightweight open-ear fit that won't trap heat, and rugged durability for active outdoor movement, choose Ttbesmi Purple Out.
• TPVision/ Philips H5205: Delivers powerful 40mm drivers with a dedicated bass boost button and offers an impressive 29-hour playtime on a single charge, but its closed over-ear design isolates you completely from the outside world.
• Ttbesmi Purple Out: Features an ultra-lightweight open-ear design with IPX5 sweatproofing and Bluetooth 5.3 stability, allowing you to hear your surroundings, yet it sacrifices extended battery life with only about 4 hours of continuous playback.
• The Verdict: The Philips is the pick for audiophiles who prioritize sound depth and marathon listening sessions, while the Ttbesmi is the superior choice for active users who need safety and comfort during movement.
The TPVision/ Philips H5205 is built for the listener who wants to immerse themselves entirely in their audio experience without distraction. This device features 40mm dynamic drivers that are tuned to produce pronounced beats and stronger vibes, making it an excellent companion for those who love music or movies where the low-end frequencies matter. The inclusion of a physical bass boost button allows you to deepen the sound profile instantly, catering specifically to fans of genres like hip-hop, electronic, or rock where rhythm is paramount. If you are looking for noise canceling sleep headphones for fishing, this model offers passive sound isolation through its cushioned ear cups, effectively blocking out wind and ambient chatter so you can focus purely on your playlist or podcast.
Comfort is another major pillar of the H5205 design. The headband is engineered to be so light that you will barely feel it during extended wear, which is crucial if you plan to use these headphones for long days on the water. The soft ear cups are clearly marked for left and right ears, ensuring proper placement, and they can be angled to fit various head shapes perfectly. Furthermore, the battery performance here is standout; you get up to 29 hours of playtime from a standard two-hour charge via USB-C. If you find yourself in a rush, a quick 15-minute boost provides another four hours of use, meaning you rarely have to worry about the power running out during a trip.

However, this product is not for everyone. Its closed, over-ear design creates a seal around your ears, which is great for isolation but means you cannot hear traffic, wildlife, or other people nearby. If you are fishing in a busy area or need to stay aware of your environment for safety, the total silence created by these headphones might be too isolating. Additionally, while the folding mechanism is clever and allows the headphones to become compact enough for pockets or bags, the overall build is designed for portability rather than rugged outdoor abuse. You should skip this model if you require a headset that stays secure during high-intensity movement or if you need to remain constantly aware of your surroundings while enjoying audio content.
The Ttbesmi Purple Out targets a completely different user profile: the active individual who refuses to compromise on safety or comfort for the sake of audio. This is a true open-ear solution, meaning the headphones sit over the ear rather than sealing inside or around it. This design philosophy ensures you feel your surroundings at all times, which is a critical feature when engaging in outdoor sports or activities like fishing where visibility and hearing potential hazards are non-negotiable. The open-ear buds are made from skin-friendly, non-allergic ABS material that feels comfortable against the skin even after wearing them for a long time. At just 0.3 ounces per unit, they are so light you will forget they are there, eliminating the pressure points often associated with traditional headphones.
Durability is also a key selling point for this specific pair. They feature a nano waterproof coating that protects against sweat and rain, making them ideal for jogging, hiking, gym exercises, or fishing in unpredictable weather. Even if you get sweaty, a gentle wipe brings them back to a "like new" condition. The audio technology uses breakthrough directional sound transmission combined with digital enhancement to deliver a 360° panoramic stereo sound. While this isn't the same as the heavy bass of closed-back models, it provides a clear, immersive experience without the feeling of being trapped. The device also includes dual microphones with an ENC algorithm to ensure crystal-clear calls, allowing you to talk face-to-face with someone even in noisy environments.
Despite these strengths, the Ttbesmi Purple Out has significant limitations regarding endurance. The battery life is rated at approximately 4 hours of playtime at 50% volume, which is substantially less than many competitors. If you plan to spend a full day on a boat or in the field without access to a charging case, you may find yourself needing to recharge frequently. The charging process takes about one hour, and while the Bluetooth 5.3 chip offers a stable connection up to 10 meters, the short battery duration remains the primary trade-off. You should consider this product if you prioritize situational awareness and a secure, non-intrusive fit over long-duration listening sessions. It is the best clip on earbuds for fishing scenarios where you need to keep one eye on the horizon and one ear open to nature.
• Best for Battery Life → TPVision/ Philips H5205: With nearly 30 hours of playtime compared to the Ttbesmi's 4 hours, the Philips wins decisively for long trips.
• Best for Situational Awareness → Ttbesmi Purple Out: The open-ear design lets you hear birds, boats, and waves, whereas the Philips isolates you completely.
• Best for Bass Lovers → TPVision/ Philips H5205: The 40mm drivers and dedicated bass boost button provide a depth of sound the bone conduction Ttbesmi cannot match.
• Best for Active Sports → Ttbesmi Purple Out: The IPX5 waterproof rating and lightweight, secure fit make it superior for movement and sweat exposure.
• Best for Comfort During Long Sessions → TPVision/ Philips H5205: The plush, cushioned headband is designed for hours of passive wear without fatigue.
• Best for Safety on the Water → Ttbesmi Purple Out: Keeping your ears open is essential for safety, making the open-ear design the safer choice for outdoor use.
• Best for Call Clarity → Ttbesmi Purple Out: Dual directional microphones with noise reduction offer better voice pickup in windy conditions than the single mic setup on the Philips.
• Best for Portability (Foldable) → TPVision/ Philips H5205: The ability to fold flat or inward makes the Philips easier to pack into small spaces compared to the rigid structure of the open-ear buds.
For my personal recommendation, I would buy the Ttbesmi Purple Out if your primary goal is using headphones for fishing. While the Philips H5205 offers superior sound quality and battery life, the open-ear design of the Ttbesmi is simply the smarter choice for this specific activity. Being able to hear the water, the boat engine, or other anglers while still enjoying music is a safety feature that outweighs the convenience of longer battery life. The lightweight, sweatproof build ensures you won't lose focus due to discomfort or heat buildup, which is common with over-ear models. In my opinion, the Ttbesmi delivers the perfect balance of audio enjoyment and environmental awareness for anyone who spends time outdoors.
Yes, both work, but the Ttbesmi Purple Out is better for safety because its open-ear design lets you hear your surroundings, while the Philips H5205 blocks everything out.
The TPVision/ Philips H5205 lasts significantly longer with up to 29 hours of playtime, whereas the Ttbesmi Purple Out offers about 4 hours before needing a recharge.
The Philips H5205 provides sound isolation that blocks most external noise, including wind, while the Ttbesmi Purple Out allows ambient sounds to pass through naturally.
The Ttbesmi Purple Out is IPX5 waterproof and sweatproof, making it suitable for intense workouts, but neither is designed for submersion in water like swimming.
