If you want compact true wireless earbuds for PC calls, media, and everyday listening, choose TPVision Philips TAT1219; if you need a longer-running neckband with retractable earbuds and a stronger stated sweat-resistance rating, choose Tyxmere 5.3. For most desk setups, I’d lean toward the Philips for its pocketable case and touch controls, while the Tyxmere is the more practical fit for long sessions and active use.
• TPVision Philips TAT1219 strength: true wireless earbuds with a 10 mm dynamic driver, touch controls, and up to 18 hours of total playtime with the charging case. Trade-off: IPX4 water resistance and six hours of playtime from the earbuds before returning them to the case.
• Tyxmere 5.3 strength: a neckband design with retractable earbuds, up to 20 hours of music time, and an IPX5 sweat-resistance rating. Trade-off: the neckband and connecting wires are part of the wearing experience, rather than a fully separate pair of earbuds.
• For a compact, case-based option: choose the Philips. For longer continuous listening and a neckband you can leave around your neck: choose the Tyxmere.
The Philips TAT1219 is the simpler choice if you want small, separate earbuds for a PC, phone, or tablet. Its Bluetooth 5.3 connection, 10 mm dynamic drivers, and touch controls cover the basics for music, video, and calls. The product information also specifies a 10-meter Bluetooth range, and Philips describes the connection as suitable for watching movies or gaming with virtually no lag. That makes it a reasonable candidate when you’re looking for a gaming headset for PC, though the listed features are earbuds rather than a dedicated over-ear gaming headset.
Battery life is divided between the earbuds and their charging case: up to six hours of listening from the earbuds, with another 12 hours supplied by the case for up to 18 hours overall. A 15-minute charge is stated to add an hour of playtime. I like that arrangement for someone who wants to carry a small case and top up between listening sessions, but it is not the same as getting 18 uninterrupted hours before recharging.
The Philips is a better fit if you prefer a compact in-ear design, touch controls, and a bass boost activated by tapping the left earbud. Its AI microphone is intended to reduce unwanted noise on calls, while the IPX4 rating covers resistance to splashes and sweat. Skip it if you specifically want a neckband, longer continuous music playback, or the higher IPX5 sweat-resistance rating listed for the Tyxmere.
Tyxmere 5.3 is for listeners who prefer a neckband instead of two fully separate earbuds. The flexible band sits around the neck, and the earbuds retract on wires when they are not in use. That arrangement can make sense for walks, workouts, or moving around during a PC call: the earbuds can be pulled out when needed, then drawn back toward the neckband afterward. The product details say the retracting wires are designed for more than 5,000 retractions.
Its strongest practical advantage is continuous listening time. Tyxmere specifies up to 20 hours of music playback and up to 16 hours of talk time, with a full charge taking around 1.5 hours. It also lists Bluetooth 5.3, a 10-meter range, simultaneous connection to two Bluetooth devices, and battery-status visibility on connected devices. For someone who switches between a computer and a phone, multipoint connection is a useful distinction—though the provided details do not explain how device switching behaves in practice.
How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
The IPX5 rating makes the Tyxmere the more appealing option of these two for sweat-heavy exercise. It also has call vibration alerts, which could help when the earbuds are not in your ears. The trade-off is the neckband format and retractable wires; anyone who wants the most minimal, pocketable true wireless setup may prefer the Philips. Despite the word “noise cancelling” in the product title, the supplied feature details specifically describe CVC 8.0 noise reduction for calls, so I would not assume it provides active noise cancellation for listening.
• Best for a compact true wireless setup for PC → TPVision Philips TAT1219. The earbuds separate from the case, and there is no neckband to wear.
• Best for longer music sessions between charges → Tyxmere 5.3. It specifies up to 20 hours of music time, compared with up to six hours from the Philips earbuds before using the case.
• Best for total stated playtime with a charging case → TPVision Philips TAT1219. Its case adds 12 hours to the earbuds’ six-hour playtime, for up to 18 hours in total.
• Best for sweat resistance during workouts → Tyxmere 5.3. Its stated IPX5 rating is higher than the Philips IPX4 rating; neither spec makes these a swimming recommendation.
• Best for choosing a bass boost from the earbuds → TPVision Philips TAT1219. A tap on the left earbud activates dynamic bass.
• Best for keeping the earbuds close when they are not in use → Tyxmere 5.3. They retract toward the neckband instead of going back into a case.
• Best for a quick top-up → TPVision Philips TAT1219. Its stated 15-minute charge adds an hour of playtime; Tyxmere lists a full charge time of around 1.5 hours.
• Best for a call alert you can notice while exercising → Tyxmere 5.3. It is specified to vibrate when an incoming call arrives.
I would choose the TPVision Philips TAT1219 for a typical PC setup because its compact true wireless format, touch controls, and case-based charging suit short calls and everyday media use.
Its 10 mm drivers and dynamic bass option also give it a clear listening-oriented appeal.
For longer uninterrupted sessions, workouts with more sweat exposure, or a neckband you can keep around your neck, I’d pick the Tyxmere instead.
For PC use overall, my preference is the Philips—unless the Tyxmere’s longer continuous battery life is the deciding factor.
Both are Bluetooth in-ear options with built-in microphones and a stated 10-meter range. Philips specifies an AI microphone for reducing unwanted noise, while Tyxmere lists CVC 8.0 call-noise reduction and vibration alerts for incoming calls.
The product title mentions noise cancelling, but the supplied feature description identifies CVC 8.0 noise reduction for calls. It does not clearly establish active noise cancellation for listening, so I would not choose it on that assumption.
Tyxmere specifies up to 20 hours of music time and up to 16 hours of talk time. Philips lists six hours from the earbuds, with an additional 12 hours available from its charging case; its total stated playtime is up to 18 hours.
The listed ratings are IPX4 for Philips and IPX5 for Tyxmere, which describe water-resistance levels, not waterproofing. Neither product is specifically identified in the supplied details as a kids’ headset, so I would not treat either as a dedicated waterproof kids headset for PC.
