If you want long-haul battery life and active noise cancellation for flights, choose TOZO Hybrid Active Noise; if you need a retro aesthetic with customizable ear pads and a compact, lightweight form factor, choose We Are Rewind EQ-001.
• TOZO Hybrid Active Noise: Its superpower is the 60-hour playtime and Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation that cuts through engine roar, but it is heavier (225g) and lacks color customization. Best for travelers who prioritize silence and endurance.
• We Are Rewind EQ-001: It wins on style with three interchangeable ear cushions and a nostalgic look, yet it offers only 12 hours of battery and no active noise cancellation. Best for casual listeners who value fashion and versatility over deep isolation.
The TOZO HT2 is engineered for people who need to disappear from their environment. If you are someone who spends significant time in transit, this headphone is built specifically for those long stretches where background noise becomes a distraction. The defining feature here is the Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation. Unlike simple passive isolation, this system actively analyzes and counteracts external sounds. The description highlights its ability to minimize interference from airplane engines and subway rumble, making it a serious contender for anyone looking for neckband headphones for flights or similar high-noise environments.
Beyond just shutting out the world, the audio performance is designed for fidelity. With an ultra-wide frequency response exceeding 44.1kHz and OrigX Acoustic 2.0 technology, it aims to deliver lossless sound that captures every detail of a soundscape. This isn't just about loudness; it's about clarity for movies, music, and focus. The inclusion of a Transparency Mode is also critical for safety and situational awareness when you are in public spaces, allowing you to hear your surroundings without removing the headphones.

However, this level of performance comes with a physical trade-off. At 225 grams, it is noticeably heavier than some competitors. While the memory foam ear cups are designed for comfort, the weight might become noticeable during very long sessions if you are not used to over-ear designs. Additionally, while the battery life is exceptional at 60 hours, the charging process takes two hours. You are paying for endurance and technology, not necessarily for a lightweight, fashion-forward accessory. If you are a frequent flyer or work in a noisy office where focus is paramount, this is the tool you need. But if you prioritize a trendy look or plan to carry multiple pairs for different outfits, this might feel too utilitarian.
The We Are Rewind EQ-001 appeals to a completely different buyer persona: the style-conscious listener who treats headphones as an extension of their personal aesthetic. This product stands out immediately because of its retro design philosophy. It doesn't just look like a pair of headphones; it feels like a piece of vintage tech made modern. The standout feature is the inclusion of three interchangeable ear cushions in orange, yellow, and black. This allows you to change the look of the device instantly to match your mood or outfit, a feature rarely found in standard consumer electronics.
In terms of performance, the EQ-001 focuses on versatility rather than raw power. It offers three distinct equalizer modes—Signature, Balanced, and Bass Boost—which let you tailor the audio profile to your specific preference without needing a complex app. The Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity ensures a stable connection up to 33 feet, which is more than sufficient for room-scale use. It also features smart controls, including a single-click 'GO' button for calls and double-click activation for voice assistants, streamlining the user experience. The build is notably lighter at 0.1 kg (100g), making it extremely comfortable for extended wear if you prefer a less intrusive fit.
The trade-offs here are clear if you compare it directly to the TOZO. The battery life is capped at 12 hours, which is adequate for a day of commuting or a few hours of study but falls short for cross-country travel. More critically, there is no active noise cancellation. The isolation relies entirely on the physical seal of the ear pads. If you are looking for bluetooth headphones for flights, this model will struggle against the constant drone of jet engines compared to a hybrid ANC system. It is best suited for home listening, office work in quiet environments, or casual walks where you want to enjoy music with a bit of personality. It is also compatible with the WE-001 cassette players, adding a layer of nostalgia for vinyl and tape enthusiasts, though this limits its utility to those specific ecosystems.
• Best for battery life → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise delivers 60 hours of continuous playtime, nearly five times longer than the We Are Rewind.
• Best for noise isolation → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise uses Hybrid ANC to actively cancel engine and crowd noise; We Are Rewind has zero active cancellation.
• Best for style customization → We Are Rewind EQ-001 lets you swap ear pads between orange, yellow, and black; TOZO is fixed in Khaki.
• Best for travel endurance → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise is the superior choice for long-haul flights due to its battery and noise-canceling capabilities.
• Best for audio latency → We Are Rewind EQ-001 offers a lower latency of 40ms compared to TOZO's 90ms, potentially better for sync-sensitive tasks.
• Best for sound customization → We Are Rewind EQ-001 provides three hardware-based EQ modes (Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost) without an app requirement.
• Best for heavy-duty use → TOZO Hybrid Active Noise features a robust ABS enclosure and higher sensitivity (115 dB) for powerful output.
• Best for portability → We Are Rewind EQ-001 is significantly lighter at 100g versus 225g, reducing neck strain.
For my money, I would buy the TOZO Hybrid Active Noise if my primary goal was travel or working in distracting environments. The combination of 60-hour battery life and true Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation makes it a practical necessity for neighband headphones for flights or long commutes. The ability to tune out the chaos of an airport or a busy train station is worth the extra weight. However, if I were buying these strictly for lounging at home, wanting to switch up my look daily, or needed a lighter pair for short bursts of listening, the We Are Rewind EQ-001 would be my pick. Its retro charm and interchangeable parts offer a fun, personalized touch that the TOZO simply cannot match. Ultimately, the TOZO is the workhorse, while the We Are Rewind is the fashion statement.
The TOZO Hybrid Active Noise is the clear winner with a 60-hour average battery life, whereas the We Are Rewind EQ-001 offers 12 hours. For multi-day travel, the TOZO will last significantly longer between charges.
While they work fine for general use, they lack active noise cancellation. On a flight, you will still hear the engine roar unless you rely solely on the passive seal of the ear pads, which may not be enough for sensitive ears.
No, the TOZO uses button controls for media and calls. However, you can use the app to adjust the Custom EQ settings for a deeper bass or tailored sound profile.
Yes, the package includes three sets of interchangeable ear cushions in orange, yellow, and black, allowing you to customize the look and potentially the comfort over time.
