It can be difficult to find entertaining ways to spend time–– especially while following social distancing rules and as businesses and community centers close down. Below is a list of 5 ways to challenge yourself and make the most of your time.
Learn something new online: Choose a course that you are interested in on Coursera, learn a new language on Duolingo, learn an instrument on Yousician, or advance your learning in math or science in Khan Academy.
Practice: Whether it be an instrument, sport, or language, sometimes it can be hard to find time to practice extracurricular activities with the hecticness of school.
Pick up a new hobby: Find a new hobby you would like to try out and, if necessary, order the materials online.
Extend your hobby: Make a long-term project based on your passion–– sell your artwork, start your own blog, write a book, start a YouTube channel, the possibilities are endless.
Career search: If you are unsure about what career you would like to go into, take this time to take personality and career quizzes (such as Myer Briggs Type Indicator, Big Five Personality Test, etc.) to define your strengths and weaknesses. Then, explore the careers that sound interesting through nonfiction online books or autobiographies and documentaries.
This time is a break from the stressful normalities of high school. In it, we have the time to explore our lost hobbies and passions, and ourselves.
