Coffee Hut Art

A Willa Dock Memorial Fund was set up to collect donations for artistic grants in Willa’s honor. Funds will sponsor a local, emerging artist to use Willa’s Coffee hut as a canvas. Victoria Gokun (now the hut manager) initially painted the hut in July of 2017, and it was always Willa’s vision to have the building repainted periodically. We are aiming for a new artist to paint the hut this summer, 2018.

We hope to honor Willa’s vision by selecting an artist that can provide a unique and surprising image for residents passing by the coffee shop. Descriptors that come to mind when thinking of Willa and her coffee hut: eclectic, whimsical, fun, playful, abstract, out-of-the-norm.

The Memorial Fund seeks an emerging young artist who resides in Los Angeles County looking to broaden their exposure.
