All hail the new king! Gourley -1 rides Michigan's bruising victory over UConn to be crowned our champion. The championship game felt much like our bracket this year - teams trading body blows the entire duration. Gourley - 1's victory nets him $414, but the money is secondary to the fame and prestige that comes with being a Tournament Central winner. TB4 is our runner-up and is $172.50 richer. Mac2 climbs to third, winning $69 in the process. Finally, copo 4 claims our last money slot of 4th, netting $34.50. For the money winners, we'll be in touch soon for payment instructions.

Congratulations to Tournament Central mascot Merlin for winning the pet bracket! Slick Jackson, Perla, and Cheetah 1/Murphy followed in that order. Note that the pet bracket is simply for bragging rights.
As in years past, it's $5 per entry. Venmo your entry fee to @Lance-Amato-1, send your entry fee to one of the members of Tournament Central, or email Tournament Central for payment arrangements. The full set of rules are shown below. We pay the top 4 spots at a 60/25/10/5 split.

Rules
SCORING:
1st round: the difference in seeds or 2 points, whichever is higher. Example: If you correctly predicted that a 15 seed would beat a 2 seed - you would receive 13 points; if you correctly picked the 2 seed to beat the 15 seed, you would receive 2 points. This scoring is only in effect for Round 2 (the old first round).
Round 3: 4 points
Sweet Sixteen: 6 points
Elite Eight: 8 points
Final Four: 10 points.
Championship Game: 12 points.
If filling out a hard copy bracket, please enter the SEED NUMBER for each winning team instead of the team name. This helps to speed up the data entry and makes our life a little easier at Tournament Central.
On your entry form, please enter the total number of points that you think will be scored by both teams in the Championship game. This will be used as the tiebreaker.
The play-in games to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday nights are not included in the scoring.
Entry fee is $5 per bracket.
The payout this year is 60% to the winner, 25% to second place, 10% to third place, and 5% to fourth place. The tiebreaker is only to determine the overall winner in case of a tie. Ties for second, third, and/or fourth place split the pot for that level.
All entries must be in by 9:00 am on Thursday.
