How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a hard-shell case built specifically around bulky kids' on-ear headphones, choose Tourmate Hard Travel Case; if you need a lightweight, compact bag that fits a wide range of foldable on-ear and over-ear headphones, choose DR·AMIU Headphone Case.
• Tourmate Hard Travel Case — biggest strength: a rigid EVA shell that's shockproof, waterproof and tear-resistant, sized around specific kids' on-ear models, with a mesh pocket and wide carry handle.
• Tourmate Hard Travel Case — biggest trade-off: it's built for a narrow compatibility list (Philips K4206, iClever HS19, RORSOU R10), so it isn't a universal fit.
• DR·AMIU Headphone Case — biggest strength: broad compatibility across dozens of foldable on-ear and over-ear headphones, plus a choice of seven colors.
• DR·AMIU Headphone Case — biggest trade-off: listed as semi-waterproof and made from nylon with EVA, so it leans toward everyday portability rather than maximum rigidity.
• Who Tourmate is for: parents who want a fortress for one specific pair of kids' headphones.
• Who DR·AMIU is for: anyone with foldable headphones who wants one compact, versatile bag they can toss in a backpack.
The Tourmate case is a purpose-built shell. Its external dimensions are listed as 7.4 by 3.5 inches, and it's explicitly made to fit the Philips K4206 Kids Wireless On-Ear Headphones along with the iClever HS19 and RORSOU R10. That narrow focus is the whole point. When a case is cut around a specific headphone rather than a generic "fits most" shape, the headphones sit snug instead of rattling around, which is exactly what you want for gear that gets shoved into a school bag or a car trunk.
Who should buy it? Parents of younger kids with one of the compatible headphones who keep replacing damaged gear. If your child's headphones live at the bottom of a bag, this hard shell absorbs the abuse. Who should skip it? Anyone with a different headphone brand, a folding full-size model, or a household where multiple people share cases. The compatibility list is short by design, and forcing a non-listed headphone into it defeats the purpose.
DR·AMIU Headphone Case: Who It's For
The DR·AMIU case plays the opposite game — it's a generalist. The compatibility list is genuinely long: Beats Studio Pro, Solo 4, Studio3 and Solo3; JBL Tune models from the 500 up through the 770NC, plus Live 660NC and 770NC; Soundcore Anker Life Q20 and Q30; Skullcandy Crusher Evo, Hesh Evo, Hesh ANC, Crusher ANC 2, Riff and more; TOZO HT2, HT3 and HA1; Monster Persona ANC generations; Picun B8 and NC60; JLab JBuds Lux ANC. If your headphones fold, there's a good chance they fit.
The construction is nylon with EVA, described as semi-waterproof, shockproof, dustproof and scratchproof. That "semi" wording is honest — it's not marketed as submersible, just resistant to splashes and dust. It's lightweight and compact, with a durable carrying strap so you can hold it by hand or drop it into a backpack or suitcase. Inside there's a mesh pocket for accessories and a smooth, sturdy zipper. The case comes in black, purple, pink, blue, cream, grey and army green, which sounds cosmetic but genuinely matters if you're matching a teenager's bag or color-coding cases for two kids.
The trade-off is rigidity and focus. It's built to hold foldable headphones still so they don't shift or get lost, but it isn't a molded hard shell cut to one exact shape. In my opinion, that makes it the better everyday travel bag and the weaker choice if you want maximum crush resistance around one specific pair.
• Best for maximum impact protection → Tourmate Hard Travel Case. A rigid EVA hard shell beats a lighter nylon-and-EVA bag when things get stacked or dropped.
• Best for water resistance → Tourmate Hard Travel Case. It's described as waterproof; the DR·AMIU case is explicitly "semi-waterproof."
• Best for compatibility range → DR·AMIU Headphone Case. Dozens of listed models versus three for the Tourmate.
• Best for color choice → DR·AMIU Headphone Case. Seven colorways give you real options.
• Best for a single, known headphone → Tourmate Hard Travel Case. When you know the model, a fitted case is the smarter buy.
• Best for switching headphones later → DR·AMIU Headphone Case. If you might upgrade to a different foldable model, this survives the change.
• Best for kids' gear → Tourmate Hard Travel Case. The wide handle and tough shell suit rough handling by younger users.
• Best for packing into a backpack → DR·AMIU Headphone Case. Lightweight and compact, with a strap that makes it easy to grab and go.
On weight, the Tourmate case is listed at 6.4 ounces; the DR·AMIU sheet doesn't list a weight, so I won't guess. If weight is your deciding factor, that's worth checking.
If I had to pick one, I'd buy the Tourmate Hard Travel Case — but only if my headphones are on its short compatibility list. The hard EVA shell, waterproof rating and fitted dimensions give it a protection edge that a semi-waterproof nylon bag can't match. If my headphones were any other foldable model, or if I wanted one case to cover a household of different headsets, I'd take the DR·AMIU Headphone Case without hesitation. Match the case to the headphones you actually own, and either one does its job well. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit.
Yes. The manufacturer lists Skullcandy Crusher 540 Active, Crusher Evo and Crusher ANC 2 among the compatible models, along with Hesh, Hesh Evo, Hesh ANC and Riff.
It's described as waterproof, shockproof and tear-resistant, made from EVA. That's a stronger claim than the DR·AMIU case, which is listed as semi-waterproof.
The DR·AMIU case, by a wide margin. It lists dozens of compatible Beats, JBL, Soundcore, TOZO, JLab, Monster, Picun and Skullcandy models. The Tourmate case lists three: Philips K4206, iClever HS19 and RORSOU R10.
Yes. Both include a built-in mesh pocket for accessories and a smooth zipper.
