About the Conference

On Touching and (E)motion: Intercontinental Encounters is an international conference hosted by National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 2-3, 2026. This interdisciplinary gathering explores the intersections of materiality, emotion, and cross-cultural exchange in our increasingly digital world.

Please note: While participation is free, we cannot provide financial support for travel, accommodation, or other expenses for general attendees. Keynote speakers' expenses are covered by the organizing committee.

Conference Format

The conference will primarily feature in-person sessions, with limited hybrid options available for international participants unable to travel to Taipei. We especially encourage participation from graduate students and early-career researchers.
