Matt Hertenstein received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in Psychology (Area: Developmental). Currently, he is a faculty member at DePauw University, a nationally recognized liberal-arts institution.

Matt's research and scholarship focus on the communication of emotion, as well as how touch is used in communication. He studies these phenomena in both adults and children. He is the author of The Tell: The Little Clues that Reveal Big Truths About Who We Are. Learn more about the book here.
