About
Technology such as big data, AI, robots, platforms, and blockchain is significantly changing the structure of human society. In particular, the emergence of the platform economy, government innovation using big data, and the expansion of online civil society based on a virtual world raise the need to reconsider social policies built on the existing national state-national economy-civil society. ToSoPo researchers are developing new social theory and policy models, tracking in-depth the precursors of the future society - such as platform labour, the digital welfare state, and online civic engagement.

About
While ICT(Information and Communication Technology) pursue hyper-convergence and connection, people's real lives are being fragmented. The shrinking of communities, the increasing number of LATs(living apart together) and single-person households, low birth rates, and the prevalence of generation me culture are significant phenomena in an individualised society. ToSoPo considers individualisation a typical feature of future society and investigates in-depth the experiences of contemporary people living, working, playing, and dying alone. Based on this research, ToSoPo presents the community and social policy vision suitable for an individualised society.
