Mrs. Carol Cruz's GCC Presentation // Feb. 6, 2022

Dr. B & Dr. Tony's Presentation // Oct. 28, 2021

Every presentation Dr. B makes always leaves a powerful message. This presentation, he left many lessons behind but what stood out for me the most was, "the single most important advocate for my success in school is me." After hearing that I understood that I really have to work hard in order to be successful because my future depends on it. Dr. B also talked about what we must do during our TED Talks. He mentioned how it is important to project our voice, command respect and attention, eye contact, and how we have to own the room.

I enjoy the way Dr. B presents because he truly knows how to capture our attention. You can tell Dr. B genuinely wants us to succeed because he gave us so much advice while sharing his own experiences in life. Dr. B and Dr. Tony made me believe that hard work really pays off no matter your situation in life. They both have gone through many obstacles in life, but looking at them now really motivated not just me, but the entire class.

CTE Counselor, Ms. Oliveros Presentation // Oct. 22, 2021

Ms. Oliveros's presentation was an excellent refresher of all the things she's told us during our sophomore and junior year. This year I was able to understand the different programs that could help us in college more. Some of the programs she talked about was the Clymer Program, Project Aim, and Dual enrollment. I think the most important lesson that stood out to be was how important it is for us to start saving up or spending our money wisely because as she mentioned, college is not cheap.

When Ms. Oliveros was talking about her college days, what surprised me was when she said she didn't have a phone and she had to borrow other people's own when calling home. I really liked how she shared her experiences and mistakes to the class because it didn't only motivate us, it also helped us realize that if you really put your up to something you can succeed.
