Tori Kibblewhite is a performer, producer, playwright, and multi-disciplinary artist based in Amiskwaciywâskahikan, colonially know as Edmonton.
She is a recent graduate of the University of Alberta's BFA in Acting program. She is the most recent recipient of the Tom & Judy Peacocke Award, which recognized her achievement in and outside the BFA program, her passion for acting, a strong independent work ethic, discipline, integrity and a collaborative approach on and off stage.
She currently serves as Artistic Producer of Dog Bite Theatre Collective, an independent theatre company, which she co-founded with Mika Boutin in 2023. Since then, they have produced several projects such as Your Heart is Gushing Lavender, Televangelists and What falls out of our brains and into the pockets of strangers; a dance show. They recently curated and produced Smut Nite: Underground 99 at Nextfest.
Physical theatre is a major part of her artistic practice, loving dance and physical theatre. She has a strong basis in physical comedy and has trained with Frantic Assembly in the UK, Fraser Hooper and Mike Kenard (of Mump and Smoot). She has performed physical theatre at Skirtsafire, Grindstone Comedy Fest, PepperMUNT, Play the Fool, Good Women Dance Collective, the Edmonton Fringe Festival and Nextfest. With Liam Sievwright, she makes up ½ of the physical comedy and clown duo Wringy and Munt. They are currently developing a full-length show.
As a writer, they have had their work featured in University of Alberta’s New Works, NextFest and Workshop West’s Springboards Festival (where they won the Edmon’ten’ playwriting competition in 2023). She is developing a full-length version of Your Heart is Gushing Lavender and is writing another play. Additionally, an untitled screenplay of hers is in post-production, which was directed by Francis Damberger.
