Topological Nets that Overlap
These are a few suggestions for would be model makers.
No Tech. If you want to make paper models by hand, then these are the tools I recommend (Figure 1).
Tools:
a. Exacto Knife
b. Cutting Matt
c. Ball Point Pen
d. Chem Ring Stencil (RapidDesign Chemical Ring Template - 83R )
Materials:
a. Colored or white poster board (not shown)
b. Elmer's glue

2. Hybrid Tech. If you want to design and print nets for free, you can go to Mathigon and use their Polypad Playground to design, download, and print them. Once printed they can be cut out, scored, folded, and glued.
3. Pure Tech. Or you can purchase Great Stella software and use it as I have in all of my graphic design work. All you have to do in that case is make CGIs.
