Andrea Caranti and Carlo Maria Scoppola

Trento, 1-2 September 2022

Andrea Caranti and Carlo Maria Scoppola have played an important role in Italian Mathematics, with particular regard to numerous aspects of algebra such as Group Theory, Lie Algebras, Applications to Cryptography and Coding Theory, Number Theory and more.

Andrea and Carlo both completed their university studies in Rome, then moved to Trento, where Andrea is still teaching, awaiting retirement in 2022. Carlo instead moved first to Rome and, since 1997, to L'Aquila. He is retired since October 2021. Both, in addition to having played an important role in research, contributed to Italian Mathematics by holding various institutional positions.

On the occasion of their retirement, we organize a conference to celebrate their careers and their contributions to algebra.

Registration to the conference is free but mandatory.

Conference's social dinner will take place at Orso Grigio restaurant in Trento, via degli Orti, 19 on Thursday, September 1st, 8pm. The cost per person is 42€. If you want to participate to social dinner, please register before July, 31th, 2022. We kindly ask you to specify how many people will come to dinner with you and any incompatibilities with the proposed menu (alternative will be provided)
