Hi, I'm Jay! I've been learning piano since I was 5, and I've learned to cello for 8 years now. I've been part of the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestra, and I'm part of both the Staples Symphonic Orchestra as well as the Stradivarius Chamber Orchestra. I still take private lessons to improve my skills in both of these instruments, and I can't wait to help you!

Demeil Betfarhad

Hi my name is Demeil! I have been singing for 11 years now. I have been in every chamber ensemble or choir offered at long lots, Bedford, and Staples. I have participated in Western regionals and all state honor choir all three years of high school. I have also participated in ACDA All Eastern Honor choir and most recently I traveled to Dallas to sing in the ACDA National Honor choir in its most competitive year ever! I am a Bass but I can sing baritone and tenor 2. I have also been playing the cello for 9 years now, and I love every second of playing it. I have participated in a few ensembles in staples and outside aswell as taking private lessons. I hope I could use all the skills and experience I have gathered to help you succeed aswell!!

Hey there! I've been playing piano since I was 5 and still taking lessons today. I've passed up to Grade 5 in the ABRSM/Trinity exams and love playing piano every chance I get. I'm also part of my school's Choralaires, so I've got a good mix of music and performance experience. If you're just starting out, I'm here to help you along the way. Hi! My name is Nina Ghahremani and I have been playing the violin for 10 years. I play violin in the Symphonic Orchestra and Stradivarius Chamber Orchestra at Staples. I've also been a member of the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestra for 3 years, and I'm a part of their Principal Orchestra. Violin is my passion, and I can't wait to share it with others!

Hannah Salpeter

Hi! my name is Hannah Salpeter and I have been playing the cello for nine years. I am the principal cellist in the Staples Symphonic Orchestra, a leader of the Staples Amati Cello/Bass Ensemble, and the co-president of Staples Tri-M Music National Honors Society. I'm excited to work with you this year and share my love for music!

Sam Zwick-Lavinsky

Hi! My name is Sam Zwick-Lavinsky and I'm a senior at Staples High School attending the University of Chicago next year. I've played clarinet for 7 years, 5 of which I've trained privately with a Northwestern professor emeritus of clarinet. I've played in the Staples Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, and I've been a member of all-region ensembles. I'm excited to help students learn clarinet!
