Auburn University is located in Auburn, Alabama. The most convenient major airport is Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), approximately 1.5 hours by car from Auburn. Alternative regional airports include Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM) and Columbus Airport (CSG), each about one hour away.
From ATL, speakers may use the shuttle bus service Groome Transportation, which provides direct service to the Auburn/Opelika area. Rental cars are also available at all airports. Please note that Atlanta time (Eastern Time) is one hour ahead of Auburn time (Central Time).
We can reserve a hotel room for the speaker at The Hotel at Auburn University, located on campus at 241 South College Street. During busy periods when the on-campus hotel is fully booked, accommodations may be arranged at nearby hotels.
Speakers are kindly asked to pay for meals directly using a personal card; reasonable meal expenses should be eligible for reimbursement with itemized receipts.
Please contact the seminar organizers in advance if you have questions regarding travel arrangements, lodging, or local transportation.
All receipts (including airfare, ground transportation, and other eligible expenses) should be submitted by email to Mr. Stanley Spence at SDS0012@auburn.edu. Please note that receipts, particularly those for meals, must be itemized in order to be eligible for reimbursement.
For visitors who are not U.S. citizens, the host is required to complete a Payment/Reimbursement Request Form in advance. This form is used to determine any additional documentation that may be required based on the visitor’s visa status.
We would greatly appreciate it if the seminar presentation could be structured to engage a broad mathematical audience, including graduate students and faculty who may not be specialists in the speaker’s specific area. In particular, a clear and substantive introductory component that provides appropriate background and context would be highly valued.
