How city schools differ from town schools

The year is about to end and I am patiently waiting for the list of ‘Best Schools in Noida Extension 2022’ to be published in the first few months of the new year. I have over 15 first-time parents in my social circle who are clueless about the whole process of registering and enrolling your young child in school. Having access to the list will make it extremely convenient for the parents to filter out the schools and curate a small personal list of their two or three options.

In towns and small cities, parents do not think much about the primary education of their children. There, they try to send their young children to the nearest nursery school, making the convenient commute a priority over things like school infrastructure or extracurricular activities. But this is not how parents think in big metropolitan cities. Here, parents try to provide the best of primary education to their children, preferring a school that has a good infrastructure, responsive and supportive staff and administration, interesting extracurricular activities and unique opportunities that provide exposure to the global environment.

On account of the vast services and opportunities that the city schools offer to their students, small town schools can not come close to competing with them at all. This results in a huge education gap between the children who receive better opportunities and the children who do not. This is why many small-town families migrate to cities to give their children a chance at receiving a better education, wishing a more successful and fulfilling life for them.
