Tools for the Trip Women's Retreat

Wilson House, East Dorset, Vermont

Friday-Sunday

August 7-9, 2020

About the Retreat

Join us for a special weekend of Fellowship, Conversation and Reflection as we share our “tools for the trip” with each other at the historic (Bill) Wilson House in Vermont. This retreat, designed for and by women in AA, will explore how we get and stay sober -- and how we carry the message forward as we embrace the joy of living. Through speaker panels and small group discussions, fun breaks, art and yoga, shared meals and down time, we will expand our connections, build our Fellowship and celebrate our sobriety.

Retreat check-in will start at 3:00 on Friday. Dinner is available at the Wilson House at an extra charge of $15 ($12 seniors) payable to the Wilson House at dinner. Our retreat will kick-off at 7:30 Friday night. We will start the day Saturday at 9:00 and wrap up around 5:00. We will have a gathering on Saturday night and some of us may join the open AA meeting at the Wilson House at 7:30. The retreat will close on Sunday at 11:30 and everyone is welcome to head to Emerald Lake for a refreshing swim, fun with our Annual Floatilla (bring your best float, tube or noodle!) or just to enjoy relaxing waterside before heading home.

Registration Details

The registration fee is $125. This covers all materials, handouts, art supplies, use of the meeting rooms, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and a continental breakfast on Sunday.

The registration fee does NOT include lodging. This must be arranged and paid for separately on your own. We are helping to organize camping for those who would like to camp at nearby Emerald Lake State Park (see Camping Information).

To Register and Pay for the Retreat - Open the Registration form, download and print it, fill it out and mail it in with your registration fee. Registrations must be submitted by mail and payment can ONLY be made by check or money order. Registration form and instructions: REGISTRATION FORM

Print extra registration forms and give them to your friends!

Friday Night Dinner: Supper at the Wilson House

Friday night dinner is NOT included in the registration fee, but the Wilson House offers an open Friday Night Supper from 5:00-7:00 that many retreat attendees like to share in (it is open to the public as well). The Supper is $15 ($12 for seniors) payable at the door to the Wilson House.

Other Important Notes: Open Meetings

The Wilson House WILL be open to the public while our retreat is going on; we will have use of the large meeting room and the sleeping rooms upstairs are blocked for our participants. There will however be open/mixed AA meetings on Friday night, Saturday mid-day, Saturday night and early Sunday morning (8:00-9:00) before our sessions start.

Lodging

There are a variety of lodging options and we've listed a few here.
Note: Lodging is NOT included in the Registration Fee -- you will need to make and pay for your lodging arrangements for the weekend.

Wilson House - Rooms at the Wilson House are very popular and sell out fast! Please pay your Registration Fee before making reservations for lodging at the Wilson House. We have blocked out all the rooms for this event. Go to www.wilsonhouse.org look under events for the CODE to use to unblock and reserve rooms on-line.

Emerald Lake State Park - Located on VT Route 7 just 3.5 miles north of the Wilson House, this beautiful campground is another popular lodging choice. We have reserved several campsites together. Many of the retreat women camp here each year and we welcome newcomers! Visit our "Camping Information" page to learn more.

Sunday "Floatilla" at Emerald Lake: The Joy of Living

What better way to wrap up a summer retreat than to head to the lake! Many of us will gather Sunday afternoon for some waterside fun and relaxation before the drive home.

Bring your swimsuit, towel, and a float, inner tube or noodle and join us for a leisurely swim around the island at Emerald Lake. Prizes for best float (and we know who wins every year!). The FLOAT PARADE will launch at 12:30.

Bring snacks, drinks, or a dish to share for lunch (totally optional!) The parking fee is $4 per car to enter Emerald Lake State Park. Campers are exempt from the fee because they already paid for camping.
