If a student refreshes a page or accesses it from multiple devices, each action counts as a separate view. Use this data as a general engagement trend rather than a precise indicator.
Recent activity may not be visible immediately. For more real-time insight, use inbox messages, discussions, or submission timestamps.
Draft or unpublished assignments, quizzes, or pages will not be tracked.
Students who haven’t accepted the course invitation or have been removed will not show in analytics.
Activity on tools like Zoom, Google Docs, or external LTI integrations won’t appear in Canvas data unless explicitly embedded.
Combine page views, participation, and grades to form a complete picture.
Canvas mobile app activity is sometimes underreported or tracked differently than browser-based access. If many students use mobile devices, you might not see the full picture in analytics.
If students restrict data tracking under privacy settings, some data may be limited or unavailable.
