What we keep hearing becomes part of how we see ourselves.Â
Some songs arrive before I know why I need them.
I’ll hear a chorus in my mind, look up the song, and realize the words were already working on me. They were reminding me who I am, what I believe, or what I need to stop carrying.
This section is where I listen again.
Not for entertainment only, but for the message that found me.
Here's Why
What we hear enters us.
What enters us shapes us.
Sometimes a song delivers a message before we consciously understand it.Â
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered. The chorus just wouldn’t stop looping in my head. I hadn’t heard it in ages, but something in me needed it—not now but RIGHT NOW. So, I pulled it up on YouTube.
And I was floored.
“Like a fool, I went and stayed too long…
Now I’m wondering if your love’s still strong…”
That first line? 🔥 It pierced straight through me. I’ve stayed too long in places, situations, and versions of myself that no longer served me. That lyric gave voice to something I hadn’t even said out loud.
The rest of the song is now a prayer I sing back to the Universe and ultimately, myself:
“Ooh baby, here I am—Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”
Only, I replace baby with Tonua, or Universe, or God.
It’s become a daily anthem. A love letter I didn’t even know I needed. And somehow, it feels like it was written for me, just waiting until I was ready to receive it.
This song reminded me that simple things—lyrics, melodies, truth—can minister to your soul. It’s my personal call and response with the Divine, reminding me I’m showing up—heart in hand, future in motion: This line,
“You got my future in your hands…”
Yes. Yes, I do.
What a beautiful way to remember that I’m not just manifesting dreams—I’m declaring them. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.
"One day I realized these lyrics were actually a love song to myself."Â
I don’t organize these songs by genre. I organize them by what they woke up in me.Â
