As for as good Morgan Wallen songs go, If I Know Me has no shortage of classics with his debut album. From Whiskey Glasses to Chasin’  You, any pick would be considered none the worse, but to me, one stands out. Not Good At Not describes a man who wrestles with his feelings from himself and his struggles of trying not to fall in love with someone. He struggles with not falling in love with her “bad girl underneath her sweet smile” and when they “dance in slow motion”. As he continues on he refrains his laments about how he’s not good at not doing all falling for her because of all of the things she does and they do together. The song’s use of repetition to emphasize his feelings towards himself pairs perfectly with Wallen’s vocal range to truly elevate this song to be a personal favorite and high point on an already amazing album. With the amazing quality of this album it’d be a shame to not check out of of the most underrated songs of it being this song.

During the 2010’s no genre was on the up in country music more than as people describe as “bro-country”. With the use of more pop sounds and generic lyricism, many tend not to look fondly over this rise. Up Down puts itself into being the worst on this album by falling into this camp of “bro-country”, while still being a good song to many this song seems to lack in comparison. The generic lyrics of fishing, which are all this song’s about, don’t help with the generic and basic tone of the song. Many can’t help to dislike this song as the features by Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line reinforce this song's relation to the “bro-country” era of music, which FGL were some of the most popular artists during. Hubbard’s vocal delivery can sometimes take away from the new and grit of Wallen’s voice that many of his fans look for when playing his songs. The song isn’t bad for what it tries to be but for that same reason, many may be deterred from the song.
