TOM Society History

The TOM Society was founded by Jerker Denrell and Thorbjørn Knudsen, intellectually guided by James G. March, and had its inaugural meeting at the University of Oxford in 2010. The founding members included Chengwei Liu, Dan Levinthal, Eucman Lee, Gael Le Mens, Hazhir Rahmandad, Marlo Raveendran, Massimo Warglien, Nils Stieglitz, Phanish Puranam, and Ulrik Nash.

Since its founding in 2010 we have organized yearly meetings where we present and discuss our work and also include outside speakers from other research areas. We also organize workshops at the major management conferences and we offer Ph.D. student summer schools on modeling.  Our Ph.D. student Brown Bag series offers students an opportunity to engage in informal discussions about their research interests and original work with peers and TOM faculty.
