Hello, I'm Tom, a postdoctoral fellow in the Climate and Sustainability Impact Lab at the D^3 Institute at HBS. My research interests include electric vehicles, energy planning, electric utility investments, renewable energy, electricity markets, and other topics in sustainable operations. I've developed analytical models discussing how policymakers can guide renewable investment and how to improve our understanding of learning about the social cost of carbon. More broadly, I've also examined other big policy questions, including how policymakers can decide to invest in near-Earth asteroid detection technologies.
I have a PhD in operations management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a masters in applied economics at Oregon State University. Prior to my PhD, I studied tobacco and e-cigarette industries, regulations, and firm behavior at Georgetown University.
