Early Beginnings Originally, Alaminos was a part of Bolinao, a town in Zambales. The earliest settlement was known as Casborran, now the barangay of Baleyadaan. Due to conflicts and natural disasters, the inhabitants moved to Nansangaan (now Inerangan). Spanish Colonial Era The town was later named Sarapsap. In 1860, Governor-General Juan Alaminos visited the town. In honor of the visiting Governor-General, Sarapsap was renamed Alaminos in 1872. American Colonial Period and Post-War. In 1903, Alaminos was incorporated into the province of Pangasinan. After World War II, Alaminos underwent significant reconstruction and economic recovery. Modern Era
In 2001, Alaminos was officially declared a city. The city has become a popular tourist destination, especially for its stunning Hundred Islands National Park. Alaminos has a fascinating history, marked by resilience and adaptation. Its strategic location and natural beauty have contributed to its growth and development. The Hundred Islands National Park is a major draw for tourists.
