Studied up to master's level at the Faculty of Pharmacy, The University of Tokyo, conducting research on learning and memory using electrophysiological and behavioral neurophysiological methods. Began to develop an interest in the study of biology using mathematics during the master's program and switched to research on mathematical models of the brain from the doctoral program. Worked as a researcher in the FIRST Aihara Innovative Mathematical Modelling Project at the Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo, and as a post doctoral fellow and assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Tokyo Hospital, The University of Tokyo, before taking up the current position.
Also serves as a Collaborative Researcher at the International Research Center for Neurointelligence (IRCN), The University of Tokyo Institute for Advanced Study, and as a Cooperative Researcher at The University of Tokyo Beyond AI Research Promotion Organization.
Interests:
Mathematical models of the brain, nonlinear dynamics & dynamical systems, neural networks, computational neuroscience, computational psychiatry, memory & learning, central nervous system disorders, artificial intelligence, data science.
