Kurai Umi is a quiet, introverted sea deity that prefers to keep to himself. They're not very good at expressing themselves to others, preferring to let out it's feelings through writing rather than putting all of it's problems onto other people. She can seem rather cold at times, but it is never her intent.

After dying a rather unfortunate, self-inflicted death, Kurai was revived as a sea deity. At first, he thought they were in some kind of weird afterlife, but after further examination, she had found out she was something different from before. They would go on to revive Mizu Noko, and become their mentor and father figure.
