MemoMaster is primarily an offline-first application. We do not require you to create an account to use the application, and we do not collect personal information on our own servers.
The app allows you to enter personal data, including:
Tasks and Notes: To-do lists, sticky notes, and categories.
Audio Recordings: Voice notes recorded via the app.
Profile Information: Your name and profile picture.
Storage: This data is stored locally on your device using local databases (Hive) and internal file storage. We (the developers) do not have access to this data.
To provide specific features, MemoMaster requires access to certain components of your device:
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO):
Reason: Used strictly to record your voice notes when you tap the record button in the "Audio Notes" section.
Data Handling: Audio files are saved locally on your device. They are not uploaded to any external server by the app.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED):
Reason: Used to send you reminders for your tasks, daily study alerts, and streak notifications.
Data Handling: Notification scheduling is handled locally. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED allows the app to reschedule your reminders if you restart your phone.
Camera and Photo Gallery:
Reason: Used if you choose to set a profile picture by taking a photo or selecting one from your gallery.
Data Handling: The selected image is stored locally within the app's private storage.
Vibration and Wake Lock:
Reason: Used to ensure notifications alert you effectively even when the device is asleep.
Local Storage: All your data (tasks, audio, profile details) stays on your device. If you uninstall the application, this data will be permanently deleted (unless you have enabled Android/iOS system-level backups).
System Backup: MemoMaster allows Android Auto-Backup (android:allowBackup="true"). This means your data may be securely backed up to your personal Google Drive account as part of your device's standard backup process. This is managed by the Android operating system, not by us directly.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. However, the app may use third-party libraries for functionality:
Google Fonts: The app uses Google Fonts to display text. This may involve fetching font files from Google servers.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. Since our app does not collect data remotely, we do not hold personal data of any minors.
