I am a PhD student at the University of North Texas in Dr. Zacchaeus Compson’s lab, where I study conservation genetics with a focus on environmental DNA (eDNA) applications in aquatic ecosystems. My previous research centered on the invasive Pond Loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus), where I developed a novel eDNA detection protocol and analyzed the species’ population genomics across the U.S. I’m passionate about using molecular tools to better understand, detect, and manage invasive species and biodiversity in freshwater systems. I hold a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology (Honors) from Kent State University (2023) and an M.Sc. in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture from Mississippi State University (2025).
