India exported 68,550 tonnes of FCV tobacco in 2022-23 (until August). Total exports in August 2022 were 15,224 tonnes (worth US$ 56.21 million), a 192.2% increase over the previous year. During 2021-22, the total value of FCV tobacco exports was Rs. 2,858 crores (US$ 359 million). The country exported 27,742 tonnes in the same year.

India exported tobacco to Belgium worth US$ 164.8 million in 2021-22. It represents a 7% increase over 2020-21. The UAE is one of India's top tobacco importers, with 2021-22 imports worth US$ 134.6 million.
During the same period, export value to Singapore and the United States was $34.3 million and $31.7 million, respectively. Other tobacco export destinations for India include the Netherlands and Germany, which imported US$ 25.7 million and US$ 15.2 million of tobacco from India, respectively, in 2021-22.
