Short Biography
"Toan M. Le is a final year Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at Chulalongkorn University (CU), Thailand, and recently holds the position of Junior Visiting Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales in Australia (August 2022-March 2023). He was awarded a B. Eng. and an M. Eng. in Civil Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology-Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and CU in 2017 and 2020, respectively. His research focuses on developing continuum theories for elastic bulk-surface models with applications to modeling nano/microstructured materials and numerical frameworks for analyzing shell structures at different physical scales. His recent work involves a functionally graded shell optimization project utilizing powerful machine-learning-based approaches coupled with novel metaheuristic algorithms. In his academic achievements, Le has published six articles in ISI journals and has been awarded both the ASEAN and prestigious C2F scholarships from CU for his M. Eng. and Ph.D. studies, respectively. "
