True North Science Boot Camp 2024

Hosted by the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

The 8th Annual True North Science Boot Camp

Winnipeg, Manitoba, June 9th-11th, 2024

The True North Science Boot Camp (TNSBC) is an annual professional development event for librarians who support research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). TNSBC activities span three days and feature educational presentations delivered by scientists and STEM librarians. The event provides opportunities for librarians to learn more about science and the research process, discuss best practices, and share ideas and experiences in an intimate, informal atmosphere.

This year's boot camp features faculty members from the University of Manitoba speaking on Indigenous science undergraduate programs, Manitoba astronomy and astrophysics, equity and data, genetics and fitness levels in polar bears, climate change, and medical physics.

In 2024, TNSBC is immediately followed by the Canadian Health Libraries' Association's (Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada's) Annual Conference, also hosted in Winnipeg from June 12-14, 2024. There will be a joint reception at the closing of TNSBC and the opening of CHLA/ABSC 2024 in the evening of Tuesday, June 11.
