TNSBC 2020

Background:

The True North Science Boot Camp (TNSBC) is an annual professional development program for librarians. TNSBC activities span three days and feature educational presentations delivered by scientists. The event provides opportunities for librarians to learn more about science and the research process, discuss best practices, and share ideas and experiences in an intimate atmosphere.

Timeline:

• Proposals to host TNSBC 2020 should be emailed to tnsbootcamp@gmail.com by Friday, June 14th 2019.
• The successful host will be contacted by Monday, June 24th 2019.

Required for the proposal:

• Description of theme (e.g. maker movement and community engagement in science and engineering) or topics (e.g., chemistry, neuroscience, etc.) being proposed. You are not required to supply a detailed final program; an outline with some proposed sessions and speakers would suffice.
• Proposed dates for the event
• Statement of institutional commitment (i.e., UL/AUL statement of support)
• Brief budget outline with tentative registration fees
• Description of proposed optional activities
• Options for accommodations with an estimated cost, if possible

Decision making:

• Decisions about the host of TNSBC 2020 will be made by the Chairs of the outgoing TNSBC 2019 Organizing Committee.
• To facilitate your thinking and planning, the TNSBC Organizing Committee has created a background document to help you prepare your proposal.
