Several of our TNABT members traveled to St. Louis for the NABT Conference. Kelly, Elesha G., and Robert hosted JEDI networking workshops, Brenda and Elesha W. led a presentation on Acting Out in Biology. We also found some time to make new friends and enjoy St. Louis!
TNABT had a room at the 2025 TSTA conference in Murfreesboro. AP Biology workshops, led by Brenda and Robert, took place on Thursday. Friday was full of sessions including genetics, standards, march mammals madness, and biology in the elementary classroom!
Over 25 teachers and science lovers joined us at Nashville Zoo for TNABT's 2025 Summer Conference.
Participants toured the off exhibit areas of the Giant Anteater research facility and the Hellbender research facility, got to see the zoo's work with Florida corals, learn about all the work being done with the clouded leopards and the Nashville crayfish, toured the vet hospital, hear about the absolutely amazing work in Zimbabwe, and got to explore the beautiful zoo!
The 2024 TNABT Summer Conference was held in West Tennessee at Coon Creek Science Center. Participants spent the day learning about the geology of the region, the history of Coon Creek, dug their own fossils, and learned how to clean and preserve them. Participants left with ready to use lab activities for their classroom.
The 2023 TNABT Back to School Conference was held in East Tennessee at ETSU's Sevier County Campus. Participants heard talks from Hudson Alpha, miniPCR, Zoo Knoxville, Tennessee Forestry Association, and National Center for Science Education. Participants left with door prizes and a folder full of activities and lessons.
