ABOUT US

The Tamborine Mountain State School Markets are run as a non-profit by the TMSS P&C since 1995.

The P&C is a strong and active organisation that supports our school and wider community by making a positive contribution to local growers, suppliers, families, and artists by showcasing their products to the wider Southeast region. The markets attract tourists to Tamborine Mountain, which stimulates the local economy. Similarly, the market fosters a sense of pride and visibility for Tamborine Mountain State School students and families, who regularly patronise the markets, volunteer or host a stall themselves.

With over 50,000 visitors since January 2020, the TMSS P&C Markets is a regular, stable, well-patronised platform for over 130 local businesses to sell and promote their products. Visitors can interact with a wide range of stallholders, offering wares from food, clothing, craft, plants, produce, homewares, art, vintage and bric a brac. Stallholders are predominantly from the local Scenic Rim area, with a high percentage of products locally sourced and produced. This, in turn, promotes our local area, its richness and diversity. The market also draws tourists to Tamborine Mountain as a regular, vibrant event - supporting local businesses outside of the market, including local cafes, restaurants, retail outlets and accommodation, as they cater to this increased visiting traffic.

The Market Team fosters an ongoing commitment to support non-profit organisations in the community. Every month, an organisation is welcomed to have a presence at the entry gate in the form of a gold coin collection. Since 2020 over $25,000 has been raised for various charities, such as: SES, Wildcare, Turning Canungra Pink ,Tamborine Mountain Scouts, TM Netball Association, Scenic Rim Cadets, TM Men's Shed, Tamborine Mountain Scarecrow Festival and more.

The market makes a significant ongoing financial contribution to Tamborine Mountain State School. Since 2020, the TMSS P&C markets has donated in excess of $60, 000 to the school. These proceeds have contributed to resources and materials for students and an adventure playground and nature play space. These outdoor areas are also used by the wider Tamborine Mountain community. The P&C and market team are now focused on the next big project; a roof covering the school's basketball court, which is a popular recreation sport for local teenagers on weekends.

TMSS and the P&C are exceedingly proud of the positive impact these markets have on the local community and the ongoing support it provides as a platform for local business and community alike.
