Luke Mander is a geologist based at The Open University in the UK. He did his PhD with Jenny McElwain at University College Dublin (Ireland) and wrote his thesis on the Palynology of the Triassic–Jurassic transition in East Greenland. For his post-doc he worked in Surangi Punyasena's lab at the University of Illinois working mostly on exploring how different microscopy techniques can help to improve the classification of pollen and spores. His current palynological work focusses on the diversification history of angiosperms, and his research on palynofloras from tropical latitudes is facilitated by collaboration.
Ingrid Romero is a palynologist and evolutionary biologist. Ingrid received her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She currently is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, at the Dept. of Paleobiology, Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History. Her research has been focused on the study of microfossils to have a deeper understanding of paleo-ecological changes through the Cenozoic. She has worked with computer scientists to integrate super-resolution microscopy and machine learning models in the identification of fossil pollen species.
