Step 1: Introduce Yourself

Reach out via email at cubscout76@gmail.com. We will invite you to one of our Pack or Den meetings so you can get to know us and see what Cub Scouting is all about.

Register your Scout online at beascout.scouting.org. Find the “join” tab and put in your zip code. Choose Pack (not Troop) 76. When you first register and annually after, you will need to pay fees to the national scouting organization. The fees are approximately $100 per year.

Pack 76 also charges dues of $125 per year ($75 for siblings in the pack). These funds help support activities during the year. We prefer check or Zelle. Paypal can be used, but the pack is charged additional fees.

Adults register on paper (we will give you the forms at the Pack meeting), and the Pack will pay your adult registration fee.

Step 2: Get the Gear

Purchase a Cub Scout shirt, belt, neckerchief, slide, hat and handbook at the Trading Post in San Rafael (ask about gently used items). You will need certain patches on the uniform, information is available at the Trading Post or here: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/CubScouts/Uniform/cubscout.aspx

Consider purchasing a red “brag vest” to show off patches, segments, pins and other “bling” that doesn’t go on the official uniform. In Pack 76 most Scouts use a fleece vest (e.g. from Lands End or Patagonia) or a twill vest (sellers on Etsy make them).

Step 3: Happy Scouting!

Sign up at Scoutbook to track your Scout’s progress. Attend Pack and Den meetings. Check the Scoutbook calendar for upcoming events. Check that your Den Leader or Pack Leaders have added you to the Evite list and our new tracking program Scoutbook so that you receive pertinent Pack emails and invites.
