WALNUT TOWNSHIP – The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Friday on state Route 37 in Walnut Township of Fairfield County. The exact time of the crash is unknown but was discovered at approximately 7:40 p.m. and is believed to have occurred sometime after noon.
William E. Everett, age 59, of Pickerington was traveling north on state Route 37 on a 2008 Harley Davidson Super Glide when he failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Everett traveled into a corn field where his motorcycle overturned and he was ejected. Mr. Everett was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Assisting on scene was Walnut Township Fire and EMS, the Licking County Coroner Office, and Unlimited Towing. The crash remains under investigation at this time. Motorists are reminded to obey all traffic laws and use all available safety equipment.
