I am a programmer and golfer from the rural outskirts of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I love rock and metal music, love American food and love pretty much anything on four wheels that goes fast. I loved NASCAR and IndyCar in elementary school, and currently love watching Formula One and Formula E.
I attended St. Rose of Lima in Hastings, MI for Elementary School (K-5). I then enrolled into Thornapple Kellogg for Middle (6-8) and High School (9-12) in Middleville, MI. I am currently in my Senior year of High School and set to graduate in the Spring of 2022. In High School, I have taken Intro to Computer Science and Honors Biology as a Freshman, and in Junior year have taken CCNa 1 and 2, and Linux OS 1 and 2, which works towards the CCNA and LPIC-1 certifications. In high school I played JV Golf my freshman year, tried out for Varsity golf but due to COVID-19 the season was postponed as a Sophomore, and played Varsity all of my Junior year.
I also have participated on the VEX Robotics Team for my freshman and sophomore year. On team 11986M of VEX EDR, I acted as the programmer and engineering log maker for the team. The 2018-2019 season 11986M attended one competition and went #-# (Win/Loss) and placed #/#. The 2019-2020 season ended a lot better for us and we attended two competitions. The first competition went better for us than the second competition. In the first competition the team went went #-# (Win/Loss) and placed #/#. In the second competition we went #-# (Win/Loss) and placed #/#. Neither year we have made it to the state competitions for VEX EDR.
I plan on going to college for Computer Science Major or something similar to that degree.
When I was home during high school, I went online and started taking courses on varying programming languages on sites like CodeCademy, Udemy, EdX, CodeHS and others. I have also taken the 'Elements of AI' course on https://course.elementsofai.com/ I know what I call basic Python 2/3, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and C/C++. I am planning on learning COBOL and WordPress in the future.
During the COVID-19 outbreak Michigan Virtual offered courses to take to keep kids busy that didn't offer any school credit. I took AP Computer Science Principles A to have something to do, and so I would know what to expect from an AP Course.
I have always had a passion for golf since I was four. Once a week, me and my dad would go out to the golf course that was a mile down the road and we would use the putting green and driving range. Once I got my swing down, he let me go ride in the golf cart and golf with him. I started playing competitive golf when I was 10, starting in PGA Junior League at Hastings Country Club (later renamed to 'The Legacy at Hastings'. I played in that league for four years and went to three PGA Junior League Playoffs. Next year I played in the Kalamazoo Junior Golf Acociation in the 16-18 Tournament as a 15 year old. It was a fun time, and I learned alot during that time golfing against older kids even though I was younger and posted higher scores.
I have always had an obsession for computers. I loved being on them, no matter if I was fixing someone's system, gaming or just fiddling around with them. I have always prefer the software side of things because the possibilities are endless, but I also do love the hardware side of things. I have always had my heart set on being in the computer or financial field, never wanting to be a pro-sportsman or policeman.
I have built a office PC before to use as a spare PC. Late 2020, I built a top of the line gaming desktop as my previous Dell Inspiron laptop has an issue. I play a lot of sim racing games like Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competitzone and others, but also like FPS games like Rainbow Six: Siege and Overwatch.
In the summer of 2021, I was commissioned to make a web-scraping program for a small bridal company using Python 3.
