AP Calculus BC

  • Who: Students taking AP Calculus BC in the 2018-19 School Year
  • What: Summer Assignment for all students enrolled in AP Calculus BC.
  • Why: With the exception of section 1.4, Chapter 1 is a review of previously learned material.

We do not have time to review this material in class so you must know all of the material and be able to do all of the problems when you enter school in the fall. On the first day of school, you will learn the ‘new’ material (section 1.4). We will begin Chapter 2 the second day of school. While you don’t need to turn in your summer work, there will be a 100 point test on Chapter 1 the second week of school.

  • How: Self-enroll in the “All TJ BC Students” Blackboard site. (Instructions below.)

Work through the Summer Packet and take the sample quizzes. Be sure to check your answers to the homework, chapter review worksheet, and sample quizzes using the provided solution keys.

To aid you in your preparation, an electronic copy of the book is also provided.

  • Self-enrollment instructions:
    1. Log in to BB and click on ‘courses’.
    2. For ‘course search’, type in “All TJ BC Students” and click on ‘GO’
    3. When the course appears, click the arrow next to the course name and notice the ‘enroll’ option.
    4. Click ‘enroll’.

What:

    1. Go to fcps.blackboard.com and sign on.*
    2. Go to the courses tab and search for Research Statistics 1 -- Fall 2018. This Blackboard course is set up so you can enroll yourself.
    3. The files you need are there under Course Materials.

* If you can't join the Blackboard course, the files you need can be found at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/y72vosbc (This link is to a public folder but if you are logged into your fcpsschools account it will actually prevent you from accessing it. Once you log out of the fcpsschools account, or try to open the folder in a different browser, you should be able to access without a problem.)
