Facebook Archive Project

Starting January 15, 2025 I will be going through Facebook to snapshot all of my previous posts. I plan to use the memory function to pull up all posts that were made on that date. All posts, pictures and videos posted to Facebook will become a part of the archive. The archive will be private at first, as a collection of pictures and videos on my personal computer. However, I do want to make the archive available to interested parties at some point in the future. 

I am doing this because I want to preserve all the pictures and videos that are mere memories. I do not want my pictures and videos to my hosted on a website that is possibly hostile to my causes. These posts are going to stay on Facebook for as long as I keep the account, so they are all still searchable. If something happens where the owners of Facebook remove people that don't agree with the government and delete their accounts, my hope is my memories and videos are preserved. If a computer hacker gains access to my account and does malicious things, my hope is my memories and videos are preserved.
