Title Trail ("the App") is a unified book discovery platform that helps you find books across 12 reading platforms from a single search interface. We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collect the minimal data necessary to provide our service.
Information We Collect
When you use Title Trail, we may collect:
1. Account Information
- Email address (used for passwordless authentication via 6-digit verification codes)
- We do not collect passwords, usernames, or other login credentials
2. Search History
- Book titles, authors, and formats you search for
- Stored only for logged-in users to provide personalized search history
- Anonymous users' searches are not stored
3. Platform Account Connections
- Information about which platforms you've linked (such as Libby, Hoopla, OverDrive, Everand, Audiobooks.com)
- We store only your connection status—we do not access or store your credentials for these platforms
4. Automatically Collected Information
- Session data to keep you logged in
- Basic usage data to maintain and improve the app
We do NOT collect:
- Payment information (we have no payment processing)
- Reading history from other platforms
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Personal information beyond email address
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Authenticate your account using email-based verification codes
- Display your search history across sessions
- Remember which platforms you've connected
- Provide personalized availability results based on your linked accounts
- Maintain and improve the app's functionality
We never:
- Sell your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your information with anyone except as required by law
Third-Party Services
Title Trail integrates with external services:
1. Google Books API: We send your search queries to Google Books to retrieve book information (titles, authors, covers, descriptions). This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2. Reading Platforms: When you click a platform button (Libby, Audible, Hoopla, etc.), you may be directed to that platform's website or app. Each platform has its own privacy policy that governs how they handle your data.
3. Replit Hosting: Our app is hosted on Replit, which provides secure infrastructure. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS.
Data Storage and Security
- All user data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database
- Data transmission between your device and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS
- Email addresses are stored securely and never shared
- Session data is protected using industry-standard security practices
- We retain your data only as long as your account is active
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of saving search history by using the app without logging in
How to Delete Your Account
If you wish to delete your Title Trail account and all associated data, please follow these steps:
1.Log in to your Title Trail account at https://titletrail.replit.app
2. Go to your Account Settings (click your profile/account icon)
3. Scroll to the bottom and click the "Delete My Account" button
4. Confirm deletion when prompted
What gets deleted:
- Your email address
- Your search history
- Your linked platform accounts (Libby, Hoopla, etc.)
- All other personal data associated with your account
Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Children's Privacy
Title Trail is designed for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
