A message from Coach Ty
As we begin the last week of this summer swim season, I wanted to let everyone know that this will be my final season. Thursday will actually be my last day coaching at Berea Rec as I am leaving for vacation Friday morning. I want to thank all of the swimmers, families, and fellow coaches who have made these years so special. It has been a privilege to watch our swimmers grow to love the sport which has shaped my life for the past 40 years, nearly 20 years coaching in SWSL. The memories, friendships, and laughs I've shared with you all will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your swimming journey. I will miss you all and will always be cheering you on! You can still find me coaching for Swim United and Berea Midpark High School. Swim fast this Saturday and have a great rest of your summer! -Coach Ty

Champs Meet & end-of-season swim party information
With only a few days until our Champs Meet please read through the following notes & reminders:
⁃ Gates open at 7:30. Check in as soon as you enter. Warms-ups begin at 7:40. Please be on time.
⁃ We cannot make changes to the lineup. If you committed to be there, please show up. Let’s put our best effort forward and go for a win!
⁃ Please no parents or spectators behind the blocks at all for any reason.
⁃ No video or photos from start end of the pool
⁃ Remember: no tie back suits or suits with zippers on them (you will be disqualified)
⁃ Concessions are cash only
⁃ New this year: we will have a gourmet coffee bar!
⁃ Please be quiet at the start so swimmers can hear the start whistle
⁃ No one can put their feet in the pool or by the stairs (even if it’s a lane not currently being used) it’s a distraction to the swimmer nearest that area.
End season party
We will gather in the large pavilion by Coe Lake at 4:30 to celebrate our swimmers. We will hand out ribbons and medals from Champs as well as any unclaimed ribbons from the season. Please bring a finger food to share; just something the kids can grab and go (we will not have utensils, etc).
After some snacks and awards, all families are invited to stay and swim. If your child is in middle school or under a parent must stay at the pool. Parent reps and coaches are officially “off duty” after the snack portion of the party.
If you are unable to collect your ribbons at the swim party, a Remind message will be sent out after August 2nd with details about how you may collect them.

Enjoy swimming? Want to meet new friends? Want to see how much you can improve as a swimmer? Join us in 2026! We are a summer competitive swim team that teaches swimmers stroke development, endurance, and sportsmanship. We are a member of the Southwest Swim League and swim several meets, including a whole-league relay and a culminating championship meet. Swimmers practice in the morning. Contact us for more information. We hope to see you in the Summer of 2026!

Swim T-shirt: Optional – provided by our sponsor Ryan Devins to those who register
before the May 11th deadline.
Team Suit: Optional – provided by swimmer. This year we have selected a more
affordable suit in hopes that everyone might join in the team spirit and purchase one.
Each family is responsible for ordering their own suit to their own address.
