This course presents a vignette of a rapidly changing, complex and highly diverse India. Students will be exposed to key themes and debates relevant to present day India. It is hoped that by the end of the course, students will become aware of some of the major socio-economic, cultural and political dynamics at play in contemporary India. It is an introductory level course, so it is open to anyone who is interested in India.
The course is targeted mainly for potential incoming full time, semester exchange students or short-term students. Anyone who wants to learn about India or intends to study in India can sign up for this course. The sessions will be open to any student from partner as well as non-partner universities or institution, who registers for the course.

It is hoped that by end of the course, the students will be able to:
· comprehend key topics and debates related to contemporary India
· have a foundational understanding of Indian society
The course will be delivered by TISS faculties via zoom. OIA will send links to course once registration and payment is complete.
