Theme Descriptor: An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organizations; societal decision-making; economic activities and their impact on humankind and the environment.
Central Idea: Power regulates politics and shapes people's opinion.
Why we chose this as our Central Idea?
We chose this as our Central Idea because power means money in this case. Money regulates political activities in simple terms. The way in which a political party regulates money shapes people's opinion.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are made up by countries for people to follow and make the world a better place.
Goal 16 is about promoting just peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
CONNECTION BETWEEN THE SDG AND OUR BIG IDEA
We are focusing on this SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and strong institutions because it reduces corruption and bribery. Bribing for votes is the main practice in politics. Making proper use of money brings peace between the government and political parties. Money enables political participation, campaigning and representation. However, if not regulated properly it might question the integrity of the institution and jeopardize the quality of the party.
Proper source funds and expenditure of a political party plays a major role in maintaining peace and justice in a Country.
