People waste food every day. Kilograms of them. Lavish people don't know the value of food. But, there is a part of the world where people don't get a meal.
People around the world have come up with an idea of putting fridges in the streets where instead of wasting our veggies, we can put it in the refrigirator for the poor.
As a mentor, guidance during the inquiry will help them to be in the right path which leads them to come up with the right action plan.
Students were asked to come up with the related terms for their inquiry topic "Famine" through a mind map. Then, they were guided to research all through the world about the most affected places due to famine and the reason too. Then they compared them with their own country and explored on few places which are falling under that situation. They depicted their research in the form of bar graph and map work.
Next, they were provoked about the causes and impacts of Famine. They recorded them in the T-chart.
A survey beyond the school community was encouraged. We together discussed the questions and students completed the same and came to know different perspectives from the community.
Guest Talk on the topic "Food Security" was held through google meet on 23/3/2023.....
Coming to the end of the inquiry, Students were asked to find out ways or the steps to be followed to control famine all over the world. A chart was displayed in front of the primary block for the facilitators to give suggestions to control famine which helps the students to extend their learning. Also, expecting the parent community to offer suggestions to strengthen their learning on the day of PYP exhibition.
This survey was done by the students.
