Ask your instructors for help.
Don't forget to reach out to your instructors when you have questions about course material/topics or when you don't understand the requirements for an assignment.
Your instructors may have suggestions on the best ways to study for quizzes and exams in their courses.
Some instructors have office hours (times when they are available to students to "drop in") and others may offer assistant by appointment only): check your course syllabi and Blackboard sites to find out how to get help from your instructors.
Spend enough time on your schoolwork and use effective learning and study strategies.
Experts say college students need to spend about 2 to 3 hours per week on academic work outside of class for every hour spent in class in order to learn the material and earn good grades.
For example, if your science course is 4 credits, you should spend between 8 and 12 hours per week working to learn the material, complete assignments, and study for quizzes and exams.
Use effective study strategies, such as reading the material/textbook before the topics are covered in class, reviewing class notes immediately after class, making and studying flash cards, making and taking your own practice exams, forming study groups, and getting help from a tutor.
